The Great Okie-Tex Giveaway!
The Okie-Tex Star Party is famous not only for its incredibly dark sky, great food, presentations, fellowship and accommodations but also for the Great Okie-Tex Giveaway! Over the years we have given away many telescopes, CCD cameras, eyepieces, software, star atlases and many other fabulous items!
Each year several thousand dollars worth of astronomical merchandise is donated by our incredible Okie-Tex Vendors or acquired by the star party for the giveaway. We hope you'll support our vendors when making astronomical purchases just as they support your star party.
A Few Rules and Policies If You Please...
Starting with Okie-Tex 2005 we made a few changes and clarifications to the giveaway procedures and rules.
- You must be present during the drawings to win.
- Only guests over 18 and paying the full registration fee are eligible in the Great Okie-Tex Giveaway. Guests registered under the adult companion rates may upgrade their registration to full status at anytime prior to the giveaways by visiting the registration desk in the vendor hall and paying the additional $25.00 fee for full registration status.
- Guests paying at-the-door rates are eligible for the giveaway.
- Because some of our guests leave earlier in the week, there will be separate giveaways on two nights. The first will be on Thursday night and the second will be on Saturday night.
- Winners in the Thursday night giveaway are eligible in the Saturday night giveaway as well. After Thursday night's giveaway all tickets are returned to the draw box for Saturday night's drawing.
- On Saturday night, all tickets for Saturday night's winners will be returned to the draw box for the final grand prize drawing at the end of the giveaway.
- As has been done in the past, there will be special drawings with nice prizes for the kids. All children of registered guests are eligible.
